4 Ways to Rock Overalls this Winter
Loooooove me some overalls! I called them "bibs" growing up––but whatever you call them––an overall by any other name would look as sweet *as I sip my tea with a pinky up*.
But seriously, I'm SO happy overalls have come back into style. This babies are my go-to whenever I don't know what to wear. Because we all know the feeling of a full closet with "NOTHING TO WEAR!" Ugh. But why do I love overalls so much? Uhhhh....because I can bend, snap, shake ma booty, and everything else in them. DUH. And is it weird that I feel extremely sexy in them?? Because I really, really do.
A lot of my girl friends say, "I wish I could pull off overalls like you!!" And honestly, I think everyone can pull off overalls! You just need to know your outfit options.
So don't be afraid of the overalls, ladies...here are 4 ways to rock overalls this winter like a BIB BOSS!
This is one of my favorite looks! I am not a true country girl, so just wearing plaid alone with the overalls would be a little much for my style. Too "off to milk the cows, babe" for my personal style. But I love throwing on a cable knit over the plaid and adding a simple boot. It's a great balance between cute and casual!
Dress Them Up
I think overalls get a bad rap. Not to many people say, "I want to dress up today....hand me those overalls." I'm not suggesting you wear your lady boss bibs to your next gala event––even though if you did I think we would become INSTANT besties. I am saying if you are in that wardrobe limbo of "this is not a super casual event....but not a super fancy affair" don't be afraid to bib-it!
Mixing patterns like these stripes adds a little more somethin'-somethin' and adding a nice sweater or jacket over the top really pulls it all together. Don't be afraid to experiment with different fabrics like velvet and cashmere!
I would even go as far as adding a cute heel. If it wasn't for the snow and being in a rush, I would have definitely pulled out my little black heels for this outfit!
Keep it Simple
If I'm just lounging around or cleaning the house I keep things really simple with the overalls. Wearing a sweater underneath is, in my opinion, ADORABLE and easy-peezy.
Okay, so clearly I love cable-knit. GUILTY! But adding it to your overalls for a true winterized look is SO stinking cute in my opinion. Pair with some chunkier winter boots and tie whole look together.
*pun life* I don't think anyone should be afraid to wear overalls! No matter what your style, you can make them your OWN. Experiment with patterns, fabrics, and layering to create your own unique look.
